Iran Joins FISpT |

In a ceremony held at the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) temporary headquarters in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Mostafa Ajourlou, Manager Sport Organization, Municipality of Tehran and Mr. Isa Mohamed Abdulrahim, President, FISpT signed a contract in which the Municipality of Tehran, Iran (Sport Organisation) will benefit from various activities organized by FISpT. On the other hand, FISpT will also benefit from the Iranian resources and assist in organizing.
On this occasion, Mr. Isa Mohamed Abdulrahim, President, FISpT, expressed his happiness and considered it as a positive step towards sport for all in Asia. Mr. Ajourlou also expressed his happiness and praised the president of FISpT for promoting and developing sport for all in Asia and the Middle East. He also expressed his willingness to devote his resources to FISpT events in the region. |

VETERAN International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Walter Troger gave two thumps up for the outstanding efforts of International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) board, led by its president Isa Abdulrahim, during the three-day congress which gets underway today at Al Safir Hotel's conference hall in Manama.
Troger, who is also the FISpT director, is presently in Bahrain to
witness the preparations to host this congress of the federation which premises was recently shifted to the island from Brussels in Belgium. He praised the true intentions of the federation's new board to implement into activities and programmes after a long break during the previous board.
During his short stay, Troger said he was briefed on the plan of the new FISpT board which was presented by Abdulrahim and will be reviewed at the federation's executive bureau first meeting tomorrow.
Troger, who will be leaving Bahrain today, said himself and other IOC officials were delighted to see a new face like Abdulrahim win the presidency of the board. He indicated that Bahrain has a strategic location to be the new premises of the FISpT and is capable of excellent hosting of its activities.
Commenting on the IOC role in helping the federation with its
programme, Troger confirmed that the committee, headed by Jack Rogue, is keen to give all his support and backing to all international sports federation which includes the FISpT at its new premises in Bahrain.
At his meeting with Abdulrahim, Troger conveyed the greetings and good wishes of Rogue to members of the FISpT's executive bureau. He said that he is proud to see what Bahrain has achieved through becoming the first country in the Middle East to organise this meet where 21 bureau members of different countries from across the globe are gathering on this island.
Troger hailed the character of Abdulrahim, describing him as a man with all new ideas which will be useful to develop sports in all over the world.
The IOC member also participated in the Walk Festival organised
yesterday at Al Ghous Corniche in Manama on the sidelines of the congress.
Troger said he realised the huge number of the Bahraini youth – boys and girls of different ages who took part in the festival, adding that he was excited for being part of this function. |

SPORT FOR ALL IN BAHRAIN
A TWENTY-MEMBER Executive Bureau of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) are set to meet tomorrow (SATURDAY) in a three-day congress commencing at 6am (GMT Time) at Al Safir Hotel's conference hall in Manama.
The congress, to be held under the patronage of General Organization for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, will take place in the kingdom of Bahrain for the first time ever.
FISpT president Isa Abdulrahim of Bahrain will be chairing the congress, which aims to implement the programmes and activities of the federation and also arrange a complete plan for the next five years.
Abdulrahim, who is also president of the Bahrain Sports For All Federation, will be briefing the bureau members on the federation's events and its calendar for this season.
Bureau members will represent several countries from Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East as they started arriving yesterday.
Also attending the meeting will be veteran International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and director of FISpT Walter Troger.
On arrival, Troger and the executive bureau officials were welcomed by Abdulrahim who said he is delighted to have this congress for the first time in Bahrain since the federation premises has been moved from Brussels in Belgium.
Abdulrahim thanked Troger for accepting his invitation to witness the congress and expressed appreciation to the IOC on its continued support to the FISpT.
Meanwhile, general secretary and member of the Bahrain Sport for All Federation Osama Al Kooheji confirmed that the federation has finalized its preparations to host the congress.
Al Kooheji said a special booklet was printed on this occasion and will be distributed during the congress.
He added that the executive bureau members have all reached Bahrain in different flights during the past two days and they took part yesterday (FRIDAY) in a Walk Festival which was held at the 'Al Ghous Coast' in Manama.
Al Kooheji extended his gratitude the General Organization for Youth and Sports, especially its president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for backing the federation programmes. |

Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host its first-ever congress of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) Executive Bureau starting today at Al Safir Hotel. |

The congress, to be held over the next four days, will be attended by 20 members of the bureau representing countries from Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East, who started arriving yesterday.
It will be held under the patronage of General Organization for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Mr. Isa Abdulrahim, President of the FISpT and the Bahrain Sport For All Federation, will chair the congress which takes place at the main conference hall in presence of International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Walter Troger.
Mr. Troger, the former German Olympic Committee president, will be meeting Mr. Abdulrahim and other sports officials during his first-ever visit to the kingdom.
On his part, Mr. Abdulrahim welcomed the bureau members in Bahrain, adding that he is honored that the island is hosting this congress for the first time after the FISpT premises were moved from Belgium.
"The congress aims to implement the activities and programmes of the federation through the continued support of the IOC," said Mr. Abdulrahim.
The FISpT President extended gratitude to Mr. Troger for accepting his invitation to attend this function, confirming that Mr. Troger's presence in this congress is a major booster for the federation to exert more efforts
"It will be the first time that an official from the IOC is attending the FISpT's congress for over 25 years and we are very much delighted for this support from Mr. Troger," said Mr. Abdulrahim.
Mr. Troger's visit was arranged by Mr. Abdulrahim during his trip to Malaysia where he chaired the FISpT congress held last year.
On his part, FISpT general secretary and member of the Bahrain Sport for All Federation Mr. Osama Al Koohiji said all procedures have been arranged for this congress, adding that a special booklet was printed on this occasion.
Mr. Al Koohiji expressed appreciation to the General Organisation for Youth and Sports, under its president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for his continued support to the federation. |

INTERNATIONAL Sport For All Federation (FISpT) president Isa Mohammed Abdulrahim of Bahrain stressed on the importance of practicing sports for all and its benefits at the 12th World Sport for All Congress being held at the Genting Highlands Convention Centre in Malaysia.
Abdulrahim, the Bahrain Sports For All Federation president, said sports is essential to fight the world's most renowned diseases, thanking the International Olympic Committee and its sports for all committee members for attending this six-day congress being organised for the 12th time.
During his speech, Abdulrahim said the FISpT is presently working on implementing its strategy for the next five years and other activities. He added that these programmes will add a new dimension in the sport for all as a concept.
He also indicated to the goals that the FISpT is targeting through conducting these programmes which aim to spread the awareness among people from across the world and improve their health.
Abdulrahim said that despite the short period since he took over the presidency, he successfully managed to put many goals into reality which were touched by all interested figures in various sports.
He confirmed that this long journey has already begun by holding this congress and briefing officials at the International Olympic Committee on the FISpT programmes and activities, saying that he personally learned much from this event.
Concluding his speech, Abdulrahim invited the federation members to visit the FISpT's official website www.fispt.net which will be open to all and hoped to attract people from all around the globe to interact with its available information.
The main theme of the congress is 'Sport for All – for Life' that the 12th World Sport for All Congress is discussing.
The event is being sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), and in close co-operation with governmental and non-governmental institutions and members of the Olympic family.

INTERNATIONAL Sport For All Federation (FISpT) will receive a major support from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to improve its programmes and activities.
FISpT president Isa Mohammed Abdulrahim, who is also the Bahrain Sports For All Federation president, had a useful meeting with IOC'S sports for all director Christophe Dubi in Malaysia during the 12th World Sport For All Congress.
The four-day congress, being organised for the 12th time, concludes tomorrow at the Genting Highlands Convention Centre.
Dubi confirmed to Abdulrahim the committee's keenness to offer its support and backing to the federation through conducting several programme and activities to be held under the umbrella of the IOC and with direct support to these events.
On his part, Abdulrahim expressed thanks and appreciation to FISpT chief executive and IOC member Walther Troger and Duba for this generous gesture which will certainly contribute to the development of the federation.
Abdulrahim also praised the decision of the committee which will help the federation conduct all its programme and provide support to training and administrative courses that aim to prepare specialised cadres in sports for all.
The FISpT chief also confirmed that the federation's executive committee will have major responsibilities to do and implement in different countries from across the world.
He added that the federation will have a packed-programme as part of its agenda, starting on April, next year when Portugal hosts one of these events, to be followed by a comprehensive programme to be held in France.

INTERNATIONAL Sport For All Federation (FISpT) president Isa Mohammed Abdulrahim received an invitation from the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Sport For All Chief Executive Walther Troger to attend the IOC president Jacques Rogge at the committee's premises in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The invitation was presented during Abdulrahim's meeting with Troger in Malaysia during the four-day 12th World Sport For All Congress held at Genting Highlands Convention Centre.
Troger confirmed to Isa that the IOC will provide all necessary support to the FISpT and its activities which will be held under the umbrella of the BOC.
Troger added that the International Olympic Committee will stand by the federation to spread sport in all around the globe, stressing on the importance of helping people from across the world to practice sport activities.
Troger also hailed the outstanding efforts of Abdulrahim since he took over as a president of the federation, thanking him for his continued co-operation with the International Olympic Committee.
He expressed gratitude to Abdulrahim for his active role in offering his vast experience to his federation and to what he managed to achieve despite the short period as a president.
Troger said he was pleased with what he saw on the federation's future programmes and events through a report presented by Abdulrahim which also reviews ways of putting this strategy into reality which will be touched by sport fans from around the five continents. |

INTERNATIONAL Sport for All Federation (FISpT) president Isa Mohammed Abdulrahim met with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Mohammed Bin Hammam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Abdulrahim, who is also the Bahrain Sports For All Federation president, reviewed all possible ways of co-operation and co-ordination between the two federations.
The meeting was arranged as both officials are presently in Malaysia where they attended the recently-concluded 12th World Sport for All Congress held at the Genting Highlands Convention Centre.
Bin Hammam congratulated Abdulrahim on winning the presidency of the federation, saying that he felt proud and was overwhelmed when he heard the news.
The AFC president said the confederation will stand by the federation in all means and provide its support to its programmes and activities.
On his part, Abdulrahim thanked Bin Hammam for his generous hospitality to him and for offering his support to the federation.
Abdulrahim explained the present and future plans of the federation which aim to spread the awareness of practicing sports among the community and the importance of soccer in specific as a sport which ensures a healthy society.
The FISpT is aiming to revive soccer activities in the world through the AFC strategy and its programme.
Abdulrahim later presented his vision on the quality of programmes being conducted by the federation which include soccer.
He proposed to have several activities like organising a league for the former soccer players and a street soccer tournament besides having beach soccer championships for retired players.
Bin Hammam was pleased with the suggestions and confirmed his personal support to the federation in conducting these events.

For All Congress in Libya |
According to Abdulrahim, the congress will be a good opportunity for the FISpT delegation to exchange points of views with Arab federations’ officials.
Abdulrahim will take this opportunity to arrange a number of meetings with Arab federation members to introduce the FISpT programmes and its goals.
On the sidelines of this congress, Abdulrahim will also meet Libyan Olympic Committee president Mohammed Al Ammari who will discuss bilateral relations and means of co-operation between the two countries.
Abdulrahim, who became the first Arab to head the FISpT, recently chaired the 12th World Sport for All Congress held at the Genting Highlands Convention Centre in Malaysia.
Abdulrahim was recently appointed president Bahrain Sports For All Association which also include Hassan Al Khan, Nabeel Kano, Mohamed Abdulkarim, Dr Tareq Al Shibani, Ahlam Janahi, Ali Murad, Mohammed Mujbel, Jaffer Al Kharraz, Osma Al Kooheji and Ahmed Al Kaabi. |
